I could not believe my luck when I got my hands on these Fenty X Puma boots. You guys all know that I love Rihanna, I think she’s the style icon of our generation, kinda like Madonna was, or some might argue still is, to the generation before us. To me Rihanna’s style is not only unique and interesting but speaks largely to the age we live in. Thats probably why stylists to the stars steal a lot of Rihanna’s edgy combos for their clients – I am thinking about Kim in Paris obviously. I believe looking back at these years I will remember her as a revolutionary style star, who forges her own definition of cool.
The Fenty collection for Puma, first launched in New York in Feb and again in Paris recently. Rihanna was largely inspired by Japanese culture, marrying it perfectly with her own urban aesthetic .“This collection is not only a representation of who I am and how I dress, but also pushes the boundaries of what I wanted to create with PUMA” says Rihanna, “I wanted to take PUMA to a new place with something unpredictable and unexpected. It’s Japanese street culture with a haunting twist. I played with texture and silhouettes and all of the fabrics are luxurious. I reinterpreted the traditional in my way.”
About This Look
I am not as edgy and daring as Rihanna, even though my husband really wanted me to wear his HUGE bomber jacket with this, I just didn’t feel confident enough being that extra. Instead I opted for one of his jackets and belted it, in retrospect I would have shrugged the jacket slightly over the shoulders to add something more to the look. Its so subtle but just a light off the shoulder shrug can change so much!
My go to look at the moment is my husbands clothing with belts over. This belt from my friend Brett Robsons store comes in different colour ways making it so much easier to wear oversized looks but still have a feminine touch.
I recently rediscovered my love for calf length tights, I think they make me appear slightly taller when I am wearing them with heels and make my legs look skinnier, which is always a win. I tend to get away with a lot of things being small because calf length tights are really tricky when you’re a taller girl.
Finally finished the all black ensemble with Fenty boots and my cute little tote from Emporio Armani. Surprisingly this little handbag takes SO many things.
The full collection featuring these boots, creepers and other great pieces of apparel and accessories are available exclusively at Puma select stores in Braamfontien & Cape Town. Price available on request
